My Cultural Roots

I come from Nepal, a beautiful country nestled in the Himalayas, rich in tradition, heritage, and spirituality. I was raised in a normal Hindu family, where we were taught to live a life rooted in discipline, humility, and kindness. From a young age, these values shaped how I view the world—and how I engage with people around me. My native language is Nepali, and I feel proud to be part of a culture that respects tradition while embracing growth and innovation. In Nepal, community and family are at the heart of everything. These influences have stayed with me and continue to shape my attitude toward learning, working in teams, and pursuing excellence.

Traditions That Matter to Me

One of the most meaningful aspects of my culture is the importance placed on respecting elders and loving juniors. In our society, it’s more than just a practice—it’s a way of life. This tradition taught me early on to value mentorship, be open to guidance, and treat everyone with empathy and dignity, whether younger or older. Festivals like Dashain and Tihar are special to me—not just because of the celebrations, but because they bring families together. These moments remind me of the importance of human connection, unity, and gratitude, which are values I try to carry with me in professional environments.

How My Culture Shapes My Work Ethic

Being raised in Nepal instilled in me a strong sense of resilience. Like many Nepali students, I’ve learned to make the most out of limited resources and turn challenges into learning opportunities. I approach software engineering with the same mindset—focused, resourceful, and eager to improve with every line of code. I believe my cultural upbringing gives me an edge when it comes to working in diverse teams. I’ve grown up balancing tradition with modern education, and that’s made me adaptable, collaborative, and mindful of different perspectives.

Inspiration Behind My Career

My journey toward becoming a Senior Software Engineer began with inspiration from one of my best friends. He was incredibly passionate about technology—constantly coding, playing with Arduino boards, and building websites. Today, he’s a Team Lead at a major tech company, earning a great salary and leading innovative projects. Watching his passion and dedication ignited something in me. I realized that tech isn’t just about machines—it’s about building, creating, and solving real problems. His journey gave me the clarity I needed to choose my own path, and I’ve been committed to growing in this field ever since.
